Reminders

Term Four
Term 4 ends on Wednesday 17th December at 12.30. They will only need to bring morning tea, unless they are going to after-school-care. Please remember to make arrangements for your child for early closing.
Thank you to all the whanau who have been so helpful and supportive this year. So many of you have offered to help with trips, and supported us at the Talent Quest and School Production. C6 2014 have been a wonderful class of lovely children, and I have really enjoyed teaching them. Good luck to all of you, and your families for a happy and healthy 2015.

Amazing race
Thank you to the wonderful group of parents and whanau who joined us for our end-of-year trip to the Government Gardens and Blue Baths/ WE had perfect weather, and it was a fun day fro everyone.
Attendance
Attendance = progress.
Please ensure that children are at school between 8.30 and 8.45, so they have time to unpack and be in class before the bell at 8.55. Children arriving at 9 am are late. They interrupt the class, and miss out on instructions. Children are not to arrive at school before 8.30. If you need to go to work early, your child needs to be booked into the before school program.
Book Bags
Spelling books, book bags, and reading books need to come to school every day.
Uniform
Please ensure children have all black shoes, and black socks or tights.
All clothing needs to be clearly named.
This term every child must have a Glenholme school uniform sun-hat. Mufti hats are not acceptable. Children who do not wear a hat will sit in the shade. No hat, no play.

Welcome back to 2014

Welcome back to C6 children and whanau for 2014.  Please follow our blog, so you can see our clever work, and photos of our C6 tamariki.   Please leave a comment so we know you are interested and involved with our activities and learning.  We only use first names on the blog.
I'll let you know when swimming starts, and will post a copy of the swimming timetable.  All children must bring named togs and towel in a bag, every swimming day.  There are too many drowning in New Zealand, so swimming is a high priority.
Please make sure children are in correct school uniform, as well as a uniform sun-hat.  Ensure that every item is named, as uniform items are very easily mixed up, especially at swimming time.  Iron-on labels work best, as pen fades.
This term our focus will be on the various aspects of keeping ourselves safe.  We will begin with the beach.
I welcome parent helpers in the classroom.  You can help with reading, spelling, or sports, or by doing road patrol once a week, to support the safety of all our school students.  Please let me know what times suit you best.
I have a 'firm but fair' approach, and use Class Dojo, a positive rewards system where each child has a cute avatar, as well as following the Glenholme School cards system.

I look forward to a great year of progress and learning.
With warm regards,
Sue Caudwell
